Title says it all. Pic shows my setting for bases is set to automatic. Ships are the same. What am I missing?

I am wondering if this is not coming from the lack of ressources. Did you add some components in your new design that required ressources that your empire does not own?

Upgrade yourself. After a new design go to ships and bases screen. Select mining stations. Sort by role. Shift click and grab all gas mining stations. Click retrofit. Select design to retrofit to. Then grab all ore mining stations and repeat. I never wait for the AI. That can take forever.

Shift click eh! You learn something ever day. From what I can work out none have been upgrade since the game started and it's now 2137.01.20. If it's being slow then this is stop. Oh and I have no lack of resources.

The problem is, I think, when mining stations are built they are built with whatever resources the construction ship took. Whatever is left over is never enough for an upgrade, and I don't think the base will start upgrading itself without those needed resources on hand. Since the non-upgrading base isn't calling out for resources to upgrade, it never will. Therefore you have to "force" the bases to upgrade themselves without them having resources. All of them, then, will call out for resources. Soon after you will see a private sector building boom of freighters to meet and deliver the demand. I hope that made sense.
