I am not able to bring the game manual up....it says failed to connect to a DDE server....also, can not access thru my game files....nothing happens when I click on any of the three game manual options....any tips on getting the manual to come up? Thanks.

you can open them from the game files. Go to where Wars of Napoleon was installed and look for a directory .../Wars of Napoleon/Manuals (the exact chain will vary according to your own set up). You should find the 3 PDF files there.

I've sometimes had problems launching .pdf files from the various matrix launchers. If you use task manager, you'll often find some sort of pdf is open but seems to be blocking any others (sorry this is less than technically coherent), force that to close and that seems to clear the blockage

Yes, I have tried to launch from my game files and same thing happens....failed to connect to a DDE server...I will look to make sure some other pdf file is not open as you suggest....thanks.

You were correct, Loki. Adobe was running in my task manager...closed it and was able to open the manual from the start screen without any problem...thanks!

another tip , right click on the file.pdf ,make your choice open it with : explorer , it will open in a new explorer window, then you can save it as a real .pdf
