More equals more private sector money!

I feel the key to more private sector money is more of everything that makes money. More cargo space both on the ships and at the mines or ports. I deep well my ports and mines so as to hardly ever be full. This in turn makes the supply ships carry more stuff and keep trying to fill it up. With deep well mines they can't ever be depleted. I put more gas and mineral extractors on them so as to get more stuff faster which also increases buying of private sector ships to freight it. More passenger compartments with more speed on each upgrade and eventually more sectors traveled. It's all about "more" in every class and grade. The more people have the more people want. Build more passenger compartments at your resort hotels so passenger ships can carry more passengers (don't forget the luggage (cargo bays).
Keep trade lines open to other races and trade them everything. The more you trade the more you make.
Speed of delivery is important. The faster you mine and the faster you get back to a port the faster you will make more revenue. Along with more cargo bays and more extractors. Always keep this in mind. The only thing I am careful on is distance traveled. I usually don't add that until I see stationary freight and passenger ships not doing anything. To me this means all the work in the general vacinity is used up. Then I will increase the distance traveled. It doesn't happen often with my deep well facilities but sometimes does.
Taxes are about private sector revenue. So, the more they make the more tax dollars you will get. Increase their ability to make more money and you will become a wealthy millionaire. Kinda like the pyramid project. I know 10 people that know 10 people an on an on. [:D]
So, while teching up be sure and keep an eye on things that will increase private sector revenue like storage tanks and larger cargo and passenger bays. Fast mining. Better extractors. Things that would make more money if you had them. The AI usually keeps me in supply of these techs so I rarely have to do them myself. [:'(]
Once the AI is making significant amount of revenue and cash flow Max out the size of your ships that only allow one ship or station. Build to the maximum size on these to get more. With freighters you can make 3 different sizes but make them significantly high. The AI will buy what has the most new upgrades on it it doesn't matter what size it is I've found. It just wants those new shields an stuff and is willing to pay more for it and more maint to get them.
Same with ports as well and resort bases. Give em everything that will make them more revenue. Forget the guns and missles and that other stuff the AI is going to blow them away anyway if they come in significant numbers so build for revenue and mediocre power and defense. Ports and resorts closer to the front you should make a little more defensible but those in the rear. Put all the revenue bearing stuff you can on them.
Remember a private sector ship not moving is not making any revenue thus not making you money in taxes. Also, wars are good for the economy as private sector ships get blown to smithereens and they have to be replaced and that means they have to give you more money to replace them. So, not only revenue brings in more money but replacement private sector ships as well. Now I know why a certain government type likes to get into wars. [:D]
