Does anybody here use Mozilla Firefox and can tell me anything about the sync function?

I purchased a new desktop and I'm wondering if that can be used to transfer my bookmarks, etc
from my old computer to my new one.

Never ever tried sync, prefer to use Mozbackup

Go to Bookmarks->Show all bookmarks, from that dialog use the "Import and Backup" to backup the bookmarks to a json file, then you can copy that file and import it on the machine where you want to the bookmarks.

Swear by mozbackup! it's on my list of first things to install after a fresh install of windows.
