Who are these men???
Yesterday I had a "Mirco Machill" as my chief of staff.
A very typical german name...[:D] [:D] [:D]
Vic, is this a running gag?
The man with eye cap is very dubious, too. [X(]

Hi,
The Chief of staff is the head minion beneath you and isn't meant to represent an historical character.
There's a pool of ten of the them and you're randomly assigned one each play through.
They have different abilities and a series of events that are tied to them.
'Mirco Machill' came, along with the others, from a German Name Generator. While there are plenty of these on the web I did use one that originated from Germany.
Cheers,
Cameron

I think the use of a name generator is the problem.
Name generators rarely produce convincing names for any culture or period, and only seem useful for coming up with baby names or screen names for social media websites.
Unfortunately the Society for Creative Anachronism doesn't seem to cover anything as recent as the mid twentieth century.
The names of a large number of junior and middle level German officers are known from other sources. Why don't you find some really obscure ones and promote them. In a pinch you could always just look at a couple of old annual reports of German banks and turn some of their officers and directors into military men.

Mine and his handicap are listed at bottom of the "Daily Log Staff" under Reports tab at top of screen.
edit: sorry, meant to quote mikeCK's post on chief of staff.

Hello Lancer,
on "Feldgrau.com" you can find a lot of soldiers names of that time.
Any combination of first name and mentioned name would be more appropriate for a "Chief of Staff":
Dr. Ernst Meiners
Gunther Meinhold
Dr Wilhelm Meise
Hermann Franke
Bruno Frankewitz
Botho von Frantzius
Adolf von Schell
Rudolf Scheller
Ernst Schellmann
Friedrich von Schellwitz
Walter Brämer
Erich Brandenburger
August Brauer
Hans Braumüller
Julius Braun
Adolf Brause
Ewald Kräber
Dietrich Kraiss
Heinrich Krampf
Rudolf Krantz
Günther Krappe
Ernst von Krause
Wilhelm Kraut
Wolf Graf von Luckner
Hartwig von Ludwiger
Otto Lüdecke
Erich Ludke
Hubert Lutckenhaus
Heinrich Frhr. von Luttwitz
Kurt-Jürgen Frhr. von Lützow
Hans-Adolf Arenstorff
Karl Arndt
Friedrich-Wilhelm Dernen
Theodor Krohn
Helmuth von Kropff
Worth a change, I think. [:)]

Great list, I hope Cameron uses it. But one should probably be cautious about mixing in the Graf and Freiherr titles.

And one additional remark:
Please add a rank for this man.
It should be a general (as a guess), because the "Chef des Generalstabes" of the Heeresgruppen Nord, Süd and Mitte was a general, too.
