Hi,
I'm a relative newcomer to the series, I played Distant worlds when it first came up and then picked it up again recently with the full game (legends). I wanted to know how long/what is necessary to activate the Shakturi trigger from a custom game or quick start with the "Legends" settings. I've played a few games all the way through and have yet to see heads or tails of them. I read up on the forums how I need to look out for the Erutkh Refugees and hit up the beacons, but I have not yet seen those either. Can someone explain to me how/when they show up? Or perhaps how to trigger them in using the editor?

that's so funny I'm playing a Legends game also right now and dont' see any of them either!!!

I have a feeling the "custom" game option takes them out or something..

If you see the ancient guardians, the game setup should be Ok. If you do not see them, you do not have the shakturi storyline enabled. If you play with "Universe" (I am not quite sure if you play that or Legends expansion), you should have a checkbox in one of the later galaxy screen to enable the shakturi storyline.

With the storyline enabled, it should be about having high enough average tech level in the galaxy, and possibly triggering the beacons.

Thanks bingeling. I have the storyline enabled and I play universe. I meet the guardians and do the scavenger hunt for ships and stations ending with the tech cache. But then it's silence. How long year wise in game does it usually take playing normal on a large map?

they will show up dont you worry.. I just got 2 of my colonies blasted away from the PlanetkIllers they have..

use your "peaceful" time wisely buddy..
