Can this game be played either by
1) hot seat ..... 2x players sharing the same computer / game sn ?
2) Multiplayer .... same constraint, 2x players sharing the same PC and game sn ?

Didn't see any 2 player hot seat description in the manual, so guessing that is no.
As to the multiplayer approach, guess the real question is whether 2 different players can have register the same game s/n in order to play off the same computer ......

Hmm, you have a point I had not considered.
I guess, see if your opponent can sign in using your game install and their Slitherine User ID and password. I have nobody local against which I can test this. I always thought players in mulitplayer were logging in the host website, but you are likely correct that the server then verifies back against the S/N.

No, two people can not play this game from the same PC. Slitherine/Matrix in its infinite wisdom has designed most of their new games without a hotseat feature. I'm sure they have a reason for it. Maybe some marketing thing, I don't know. I am no computer programmer, but I can not see how putting the ability to play both sides in a TURN BASED game is that hard. John Tiller Software puts the ability to play both sides in their REAL TIME wargames! If you you are so inclined, you can play both sides in his Naval Battles games and his Airpower games and they are not turn based but played in REAL TIME! No, I don't work JTS. I'm just making a comparison. They have been promising to put hotseat in this title for years. My guess is it will never happen because they don't want it. Have you played Pike and Shot? Great game and you can play hotseat. Ahhhh, but you have to log on to the sever to do it. Hmmmmmmm. WHY? What if the server is down? Or, what if years down the road something happens to the company and there is no server? They really need to start putting the hotseat feature back in the games.

I'd like to play "Hot-seat" with the AI, if not for anything, but to see what the AI actually does. What the AI stats are? In this game we know the AI cheats, the AI knows everything about you, but you do not know very much about the AI or it's stats. If a player tries to pull a sneaky move (thinking you are in FOW), the AI knows where you are all the time. I realize the game is dead as far as new features go, however it always bothered me that the AI knew all there was to know, so why not share that with the live player, so as to be shared equally.

Do struggle that there is no means of paying 2x players on the same PC ..... pity
