Mod Question/Request

I'm have a few questions about mod availability, difficulty, etc. See below:

1. Are there any mods/scenarios in existence/in the making (hint, hint) in that cover the following:
a. Grand Campaign starting at the original planned Barbarossa start date (15 May, 1941)
b. Grand Campaign that assumes Sea Lion occurs (unrealistic) or Africa campaign is given priority (more realistic) in 1941with a Barbarossa start date in 1942?
c. Campaign or scenario, which would probably require a map modification as well, covering a theoretical Soviet first strike/invasion of German occupied Europe?
d. An extended timeline into 1946 in the event the German player does better than historical Germany in the East (and by extension Wesr), but not well enough to actually "win" the war?

2. is is possible to mod (and do mods exist for) the production system. Just playing around with the game I kind of wonder if a little more control (as in WITP) is possible.

3. Has anyone attempted to try and model political constraints on Armies for both Germany and the Soviet Union, such that interference from above places some limits on operational freedom. DC:B tries to do this with the whole decision thing with mixed success, but I would love to see a game where the Germans cannot just roll with any operational plan they want by, for example, shifting entire Panzer Groups to AGN, or the Soviet player is actually incentivized to not just immediately withdrawal their factories and actually put up a fight for key cities (e.g. Kiev) that human players, with 100% hindsight (in the guise of foresight) immediately abandon with no political consequences for more defensible positions.

Thanks for reading my wall of wishful thinking. [:D]

1a - No the game is hard coded to start historically on 22 Jun
1b - No but it is possible although T1 would not have the surprise bonuses currently set.
1c - It is possible but not tried.
1d - No the end date is hard coded.

2 - Absolutely have done it in my Nemesis scenario.

3 - No

Thanks for the quick response! Seems like the second version of this game (or the rumored unified European Theatee of Operations Game) should phase out hard coded start/end dates! Not to mention more easily allow modders to move that surprise bonus! I'm actually shocked that those game mechanics aren't more easily accessible.

Cheers.

Edit: do have a link to your scenario? Is there another place other than Matrix where people post their modifications and scenarios?

Actually I've spent today testing T1 of WitE2 so your post is apposite. I understand the frustration with dates but developers do tend to protect their future by limiting modding potential. The problem with surprise rules is that the special code is easier to hard code in games of this complexity. WitP:AE has the same issue. That said we are trying to set the T1 of WitE2 as standard if possible.

My scenario is here: tm.asp?m=3374600 - however as I used embedded data it is not compatible with the latest versions.

I started as a modder and got sucked into development. If you need advice or help then please post or PM as if I don't know the answer I do know who does.

An unfortunate view. Mods that add historical alternatives or change theatres or improve graphics/sounds can help games sales.....
