1.7.11.25.8 Issue - P47D25 no longer show bombs

I just upgraded my game from 1.7.11.24 to 1.7.11.25.8 and the Aircraft P47D25 no longer show bombs when viewing the aircraft data from the squad/group screen, bombs still show in the aircraft type database screen.

I went back to an old save and old exe and the P47D25 fighters show bombs when viewing the squad/group screen! Don't know if this is just a display issue, planes can't use bombs or what other types of fighters/FB are effected.

The type of mission currently selected for the squadron you are looking at affects that.

As well as whether drop tanks are selected...

So if the P47D25 carries bombs it can't use drop tanks, the normal/extended bomb loads for planes using drop tanks are now gone, huh?

Interesting. I did never try if droptanks reduce payload.

Where do you think the drop tanks are located. You can't have two items occupying the same space.

The aircraft data screen shows where everything is located for the currently assigned air mission.

D-25 had a centerline and two underwing racks, all suitable for tanks or bombs.
May be a game limitation to have only underwing station (External) modeled and not centerline as additional station.

MichaelM weighed in on that very recently in another thread. It was just not possible to put every permutation of configuration into the options for each mission.

The game overall is a wonderful approximation of the complexity of several theatres of war, and approximations mean not every detail can be accommodated.

If the database was able to support every combination of payload and fuel aircraft were able to carry, it would make the db ponderously large. It's already bigger than just about any computer game ever made.

The D25 and N only defines the wing hardpoints, and it probably should have three hardpoints for tanks or ordinance.

Hard points/racks on the P47 could be added and removed as needed to support different weapons and equipment (bombs, rockets, early napalm, radar pod, fuel tanks, etc). No doubt not all weapons or equipment were used everywhere on every aircraft type.

I'm just asking why the change to the P47?

I can't see any code changes between 1124 and now that would account for why they no longer show bombs. Data (apart from some corruption[:D]) is not changed by these EXE changes.

Do you have a before and after screen shot of the difference that can be posted?
