I have a query about this event. My esteemed opponent has done nothing but run for most of the game an there has been hardly any fighting at all, especially in AGS. So why would AGS suddenly get hit with Limited Ammo Shortages? Is this event based on any actual game data or is it simply scripted? Because it makes no sense at all.

Pretty sure when I've gotten that message it's because there weren't enough trucks to go around. If not, maybe it was trains...

Try checking the trucks report...

My point is I haven't been fighting. So virtually no ammo would be used. There would be very little strain on trucks or trains as no ammo is being requested.
