Paint Me Confused About Development Delay

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know what might be obvious already, that originally we underestimated the time required to get TOAWIV to the level we envisioned for it.
Rather than cut back on our plans, we have decided to expand the development time. I can't give you dates yet, but I wanted to assure you that our plans with the game are as serious as ever, and development has been going on, even if not at the pace we originally planned with.
To avoid confusing people,, I will move this forum back to the "in development" section, but as I said, not be troubled.

The future IS bright for TOAW, but it will take a steady advance to get there, instead of a quick overrun we hoped for.
A little confused about this. Does this mean there are more things being added beyond what has already been stated? Or does this mean the game isn't being worked on as diligently as was planned? TOAW4 was expanded to a 'new game' from the TOAW3.5 patch that had been worked on for quite some time already. So I am just wondering how it slipped so badly if nothing more is being done than was planned once it became TOAW4.
We receive absolutely no development updates at all other than vague things such as this so it would be nice to keep us in the loop. Screen shots and dev thoughts would be good. Doesn't take more than a few minutes. Keeps people from throwing up their hands and walking away when there is delay after delay after delay. It is beginning to resemble the game that comes right after this one in the [In Development] sub forum.

I don't really understand this either; frankly the development goals have sounded pretty modest from the beginning, and now it has slipped backwards, from late last year to "someday, but no idea when". The lack of detailed developer input or screenshots makes me wonder if anything has happened at all since TOAW was announced.
Anyway, it is what it is; I'll unsubscribe from this forum at this point and check back in after a couple more years.

Not what I get from this: "Rather than cut back on our plans, we have decided to expand the development time".

I would guess that the problem is the same as always, just one guy doing the coding. Or did they add someone else?

"expand the development time" is newspeak for the guy working on it has not met goals and no one has any idea when he will. It is a common industry cop out that you see from time to time. Nothing to do but wait some more. But we are all getting used to this by now. BTW, they have been working on this thing for a couple years plus. It's not a brand new game, it's a face lift. If they were really serious about this game it would be done by now. And yes, lots of us are becoming very annoyed at the paltry amount of news other than the delay reports. My knickers are getting in a twist. [:'(]
On the other hand maybe it really is more new features being added to the game. Now that would be worth a wait. I already spent my TOAW money on a JTS game.

If I'm not mistaken, TOAW 3.5 now TOAW 4, is in development since 2011 or 2012.
