Defeated by Capturing Stalin

Well.... I captured GORKI which had various Soviet HQ's including Stalin.... killed the HQ's and subsequently lost the war..... What is going on?

Ditto to Klausmann. At Gorki, ready to assault with surround and kill Stalin.
Moscow, Leningrad, and Rostov all taken.
Very few Soviet units showing, basically just walking unimpeded South, East, and North. And I have lost just one allied unit.
Oh yeah - I've lost! It tells me in the pdf that even though all my ratings are 5 and i'm up for promotion, that Hitler is sending the Gestapo.
Yes, it was on Easy, no decision, but that's because I'm learning how this game operates, but that's not a reason to lose the game. I don't see how I can literally do any better.

Seems the only other option is assassinate Hitler, off Mussolini and rule Europe [;)]
