Not sure if this is a feature or an glitch.

I had a group of 4 Growlers. OECM set to Active by group doctrine. As aircraft when to bingo fuel status and left the group, the departing aircraft reverted to the scenario doctrine of OECM set to Inactive. Which wouldn't be a big deal except it got shot down by an SA-10...

For clarity, there were no changes to doctrine settings before or after.

Is this by design or a bug?

AFAIK this is not a bug, the hierarchy is: side > mission > group > unit. If you have a group with a doctrine different to the side, it will revert to side doctrine on disbanding.

Yeah it is by design. In v1.11 the user can configure whether the group should disband on winchester/shotgun/bingo/joker.
