What the.......?

Gents

I am all for having different start positions to maximise replayability but really? The entire BMD was placed near Liepaja!! So the Germans simply pile north (cutting off the BMD who won't activate and so cannot stop Riga falling - and nor can 27th Army as there was no unit from this army close enough to the key city) and Dunaburg/Daugvapils is simply by-passed. There was nothing to guard Riga and my opponent has simply walked up to it and will take next turn??

I think such an extreme set-up needs to be amended - or at least equalised by, for example, starting the 4th PzG in Berlin [:D]

Hi Warspite,

The non-historical set-up mixes things up for the Soviets. There is a reasonable amount of randomisation involved, but within historical paramaters. Riga was taken with days of the campaign starting.

You'll get a mixture of individual army set-ups that will be, on occasion, better or worse than what occurs with the historical option selected.

If you're playing competitive PBEM it might be best to stick with historical as it'll be the same every time (but highly predictable).

You'll also have the option of Free Set-up with the next update.

Cheers,
Cameron
