I am playing Northern Inferno Beware of the Badger. I currently have it in High Fidelity Mode and No-pulse. First, do any of these affect the realism or outcome of the simulation?

Next, I am thinking about turning off High Fidelity mode because the time seems to take about 2 real seconds for every 1 simulated second. I'm surprised because I have a very high-end desktop computer - 32 GB RAM, 64-bit operating system, Intel Core i7 5960x 8 core 3.0 Ghz processor, GeForce Titan X graphic card. So, I would think I could run this at the highest possible levels without any slowdown. Any suggestions or thoughts? When I turn off high-fidelity mode, it runs completely fine - should I do that and would it have any adverse affect on the game outcome or simulation (and if not, why is high fidelity mode offered then, what's the benefit?)?

Use time acceleration.

High-fidelity mode is only active in 1:1 time setting (ie. no time accel) and forces the sim to run at 0.1 sec-timeslices instead of 1-sec. It increases visual fidelity (more fluid motions) but does not alter the simulation results.

The game itself doesn't runs in 64-bit, so there is no way it could be used more than 4GB. My best attempt is to play a huge scenario and only capped 900MB.

I could try if there's an even bigger scenario that could whopping the RAM usage even higher. But mostly around 800-900MB only from my previous attempt, the game crashed so easily with that.

Can you post any troubled scens in the Tech support section please? Along with instructions etc?

I recently moved CMANO to an SSD. I could be imagining things, but that seems to have made quite a difference. Could that be something to try?

(Also - 1.11?! I'm not even done hyping 1.10 yet!!)

An SSD instead of a standard hard drive will do wonders to smooth things out as much faster read/write.

Yes, low-latency storage helps a lot. If you have the RAM to spare, you can try running it off a RAM-drive too.

Decided to install RamDisk, spaced 16GB RAM as a drive for CMANO (it takes nearly 13GB already with all the DB pictures) into a mountable file, it will be auto-save and auto-mount every time I start the PC.

This will make login and logout of my computer a lot slower consider of the long saving, but the game does indeed runs smoother, and slightly faster with time compression.

You might try the freeware "imdisk" at http://imdisk.en.lo4d.com/. I have a 32GB system and have used this to create a 16GB Ram Disk for use with CMANO. Once you have loaded all the CMANO files you can save the virtual drive as an .img file which will subsequently load in seconds instead of the minutes required to copy all the files to memory. I have Windows 10 but it is supposed to work with Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7/8.1 also. I've been using it for several weeks with no problems. FYI I also use Process Lasso "https://bitsum.com/processlasso/" which improves processor operation for big applications like CMANO. The two together should noticeably boost your performance.

I've been using the setup described above (ramdisk, process lasso, Windows 10) since February this year. Much faster CMANO loads, execution and general data access than even a solid state drive let alone a standard hard disk drive. Not one single problem. If you can upgrade to 32GB and use 16GB as the RAM disk then I highly recommend it!
