No Fuel (No Orm)

I have been unable to move PzG 1 for I don't know how long - probably 4-5 turns. There is zero fuel getting to them.

The rail report says

Actual Trains 12 (require 9 for PG fuel)
Truck Columns - Route Difficulty -26

The FSB is at Kiev. The HQ is 4 trucks away and only just off road in clear weather.

Could this be a bug?

I know it may be obvious, but is the HQ the other side of the river - with the bridge blown?

Its the only thing I can think of...[&:]

Well its the obvious reason but if that is the answer it rather begs the question why the PzG was able to operate there previously. I mean the blown bridge didn't happen after the PzG began operating east of Kiev!

Every unit has its own reserve. In that way a unit can operate beyond its supply line for a short time.

When I was playing this game I realized that you must do everything possible not to overstretch your trucks. A blown bridge is exactly the type of obstacle that puts an overburden on your trucks. I would never move any of the panzer groups across a blown bridge. Sounds silly, but I would run them a different way, if possible, or just shut them down and do all my maintenance. Of course, this was ridiculous because it can take several turns to repair a bridge. But the way I looked at it it was that I am down now and move later or I push and lose a lot of trucks and come to a stop at that point. When you are in chronic truck problems there are no solutions.

Howdy Warspite,

The logistics report for AGS would help answer this question. It details exactly what fuel is getting where at each stage in the logistics chain. Post a screenie of the AGS logistics report if you get a chance.

Also important to bear in mind that fuel and supplies are treated totally differently. Yes, each unit has its own reserve of supplies. But each unit doesn't have its own reserve of fuel. Fuel for panzer and motorized divisions is drawn from a single pool for each theatre. So individual units being across a major river with a blown bridge will start to run low on supplies, but not necessarily on fuel. Conversely, individual units can be totally in supply, but lacking fuel because the fuel pool for AGS has run dry.

I suspect the issue has to do with the trucks end of your logistics chain. Maybe they are all down for maintenance? Or it's just too hard to get them across the river with the bridge blown?

Also, is the PzG in blitzkrieg mode? If so, the "blitz cost" of up to 2500 bbl per turn may be eating up the entire amount of fuel that is reaching the PzG HQ each turn.

Hi Warspite,

Chuck is on the money with the logistics report as a source of information on the problem.

You could also check the Logistics section in the AGS daily log as it'll highlight anything unusual.

Another good source of info are the colours of the logistical icons in AGS.

What colour is the FSB icon and the truck icons?

Cheers,
Cameron
