amariah's DISTANT WORLDS UNIVERSE IMAGE MOD

Mod in progress but finished content to date is available for download. This mod will cover most graphical aspects of the game. Currently most of the weapon effects are finished. I'm an indie developer working on multiple projects and still in school but even though I'm busy I love doing this.

Make a backup copy of your Distant Worlds/images/effects/weapons folder and place these images inside or load the root folder into your customization folder for Distant Worlds.

I would wish to try it but there are no instructions on how to insert the mod on the Distant Worlds folders.

In the Distant Worlds Universe folder there is a "Customization" folder and you can put the base folder of the mod there and change the theme in game to amariah's_DWU_Image_Mod. However other mods won't be active with that option. A second option is to make a backup copy of the Distant Worlds "weapons" folder which is in the folder structure ... Distant Worlds Universe\images\effects\weapons.

The current mod folder structure is:
amariah's_DWU_Image_Mod\images\effects\weapons -- with the current images of the mod being in the weapons folder

copy the weapons folder of the mod to the weapons folder of Distant Worlds Universe AFTER making a backup copy of the original Distant Worlds Universe weapons folder. This way the weapon images will be used with all other mods active unless you are using a mod (theme) that has edited the weapon images.

amariah's DWU Image Mod is intended to replace most images in the game but as of this posting currently only weapons have been implemented. When enough progress on the mod is made it will be a theme that can just be placed into the Distant Worlds Universe\Customization folder and loaded in game.

If you have the STEAM version the Distant Worlds folder will be at:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Distant Worlds Universe\

Sorry for the long delay. Did some programming on my graphic software I'm using to create this mod. The wave weapon (beam_7) and one of the missile weapons (torpedo_4) have been added to the mod. Edited the graviton beam (beam_9) hopefully it looks better and the titan beam (beam_3) is smaller.
