With a sub-question: against AI and against human in PBEM ?

PS: I haven't tried yet Russians but struggling with Germans against AI

I don't think either is intrinsically more difficult, they are very different sorts of challenges. The Russian side is probably a bit less complicated, if no less difficult, due to the fact that the Russian really doesn't have to worry about logistics or relationships all that much.

I'd say under 1.03 beta it will be hard to beat a very skilled German player who can maximise the shock of the initial turns and keep the ball rolling. On the other hand, given 2 evenly matched players who aren't at the top tier, the Russian player may have the easier task.

The AI, as with all AIs in complicated wargames, is more competent on defence than on the attack. So I'd say it's easier to play the Russians against the AI, because the AI grinds its panzers down quickly and leaves itself very open to counterattacks.

my pick is the Russians are harder to play, my experience is limited but ive won 2 times as the Germans and lost 2 times as the Russians. actually it may be a little easier as the soviets if I can figure out the southern strategy.
