Problem with saving

Hi everyone! I wonder if you could help me...
I installed TOAW 3 a while ago. I'm running Windows 7 professional (64-bit). When I started a scenario I couldn't see the map panel, only a metallic texture with the place names and unit names floating on it. So I started running opart3.exe in Win 98 compatibility mode. Now the map panel is visible and the gameplay is working fine. The only problem is that I can't save the game [:)] When I click "save game as..." nothing happens. Autosave seems to be working, though.
Any ideas for a solution?
