I really think that the game needs multiplayer. Real time, client server multiplayer would be great. No need for dedicated servers, one player could host.

The AI no matter how good can never replace a player. I am really hoping for some multiplayer system. Maybe Matrix can help Peter here. This is where the game would shine.

Have to agree with that. Multiplayer is the lifeblood of games like this, and keeps them going for years longer than a single player version.
