Currently the action log window in the 1200x800 resolution is too small. I have just fixed it, the fix will be available in the upcoming patch that I'm currently working on. In addition, more hexes will be available from with width perspective. Please see the image below, this is how the 1200x800 will look like after the patch is applied.

Super, I'm going to stick to my rule of always waiting for the first patch before buy new games.
