War is Boring makes mention of using CMANO to model an engagement between the PLAN and USN, highlighting the USN lack of long range surface to surface weapons.

Decent article about the SM-6, too.

How on earth do you talk about the Reuben James's history without highlighting it's role sinking that rogue Soviet boomer Red October.

SM-6 got 62kg frag warhead, it will need 4x firepower to equalize a single Tomahawk, or 3x to one harpoon.
Speed? Yes.
Range? Sort of yes, if they're talking about Harpoon/Exocet's range.
Sea-skimming? Nobody knows.
Firepower to cause havoc of damage? For boats or smaller? Sure.

Just the mass of a rather large missile impacting at supersonic speeds will cause pretty severe damage. The warhead on the Exocet that killed the Sheffield didn't detonate. The damage caused by the kinetic impact at subsonic speed coupled with fires caused by the unspent fuel was enough to cause the loss of the ship.
SM-6 isn't a perfect solution to the USN's ASuW problems, but it's a good interim solution until LRASM or TLAM IV enters the fleet in significant numbers.
