Land mass is blue but ocean is yellowish

I find color choices for map are very strange. LSD inspired perhaps? [:D]
Anyway, before buying, I would like to know if there is any possibility this can be reversed so that water is blue and land is... well, anything than blue?

I'm with you. I find it very confusing, but then again it doesn't take much to confuse me!

Land is not blue, French-controlled land is blue
Seriously though, the colour coding over the original boardgame map design really helps gameplay, and is much more clearer when you are looking at the map with each powers' colours "in action"

Yeahh but just have to get used to it, like a painting.
I must say the games art work is very nice indeed. A big thumbs up...

The map in general reminds me of the maps of that era.
