I've only had the game for a short time, so perhaps I am not familiar enough with the game and it's interface, but in the couple games I have been playing (shorter scenarios) I find myself wondering what it is I'm trying to do to win.

Perhaps something could be added to one of the screens which gives the victory conditions of each particular scenario.

I haven't paid that much attention to the specific victory point totals. I play the game more to either:

1) establish Napoleon's hegemony over all of Europe (unlikely);
or
2) keep France from being successfully invaded.

I haven't done either yet, playing on normal level.

So basically, the scenario date is merely the start of a "grand campaign" of conquest and glory?

Sorry, I've only had the time to dabble about so far. I like the game alot, just haven't had the time to put into it so far.


Edit: So I actually read the rule book and it appears these scenarios are generally end after 10 years and then you get the "Victory" screen to end the scenario.

The French Player gets points for:
* Winning Major Battles
* Defeating Enemy Nations
* Successfully playing certain cards that create French Client kingdoms (Northern Italy, Bavaria, Westphalia, Confederation of the Rhine, Naples, Grand Duchy of Warsaw, and Spain
* Adding Regions to the French Empire
* Playing the Consolidate the Empire card

The British Player (AI) gets points for:
• Major Battle Victories
• Major Nations Currently at War with France
• Major Events Played (Germany Rebels, Italy Rebels, Liberate Major Nation)
• Independent Portugal (Free of French occupation) 2 VP/ turn
• Death of Napoleon

Yep, I'm on my first game (wimp difficulty) and have managed to do all that except Spain.

Russia has declared war on me and Napoleon and Berthier are maneuvering to hopefully humiliate the Russians in Battle.
