Just picked this up yesterday and stated playing, so far very good. Didn't see a quick and dirty Q/A thread so I thought I would start one.

My question is: I see the highlighted dots for range (out to 5 hexes for some infantry types). Most times, I cannot fire past the maximum range, but then there are other times that I am able to fire past the maximum. What am I missing that is allowing me to exceed the max range?

Quick answer - in ASL a squad can fire at twice its printed range at half firepower, if I remember off the top of my head.... I'm assuming Toth has the same rule?

That's what I thought but it doesn't allow all the time. Not sure if it is in certain phases or postures.
