I wonder, what is the most realistic company/batallion simulation game out there? I mean the one where you actually step in the shoes of company commander and delegates orders through messangers, set up the main plan of action, where you have to manage wounded and POWs. Is there any game with a complexity level such as described?

There is Scourge of war, if you're into the civil war stuff. No POW or taking care of the wounded though. Also, if you like delegating orders, you might want to take a look at Command Ops. Not sure where to get CO though, since I think Matrixgames isn't selling it anymore AFAIK. Sorry for not being more helpful.
