Question while designing using a different setting than "Summer"

I have not found it anywhere in the manual, so:

When you don't use the normal "Summer" setting for creating your map, some of the "Summer" button lay new landscapes.

For example, the MUD or GRASS button (can't remember right now) is creating Sand Dunes, with the "Desert" setting.

Now, there is nowhere in the manual saying what is the protective value / movement cost of the sand dunes.

Is it the same as its "Summer" counter-part, or is it different ?

IIRC, dunes are the same as high grass. The biggest problem with dunes and tall grass is the visibility of those. Examine them at the various levels within Fred's editor, and you will see some serious visibility blocking that occurs when using them. Note that Dunes and Tall Grass both are reflected as "Clear" hexes. A bit misleading since they obscure visibility so much.

Fred's editor is a very good way to examine some of this stuff. Not real easy though. A bit of a learning curve and a bumpy road but I found it quite worthwhile.
