Variable scenario end: does it work?

I used this feature in the scenario I am developing, and Double Deuce has used it in the scenarios of the ongoing GToth campaign. I have noticed, however, that these scenarios always ends at the last possible turn.

Has someone ever experienced an early scenario end?

The scenario I just released has that variable, maybe someone playing that can report it going all the way to the end?

This feature is explained in the manual, section 7.2...

This feature is explained in the manual, section 7.2...

Yes, I read the manual and I double-checked it after I began to suspect something is wrong with the variable end rule. Section 7.2 states:
ORIGINAL TotH Manual

·Scenario Variable End – there are two sub-components, the marker needs to be set on a specific turn that the variable length gets triggered and what die roll that will actually trigger the scenario end mechanism. Example: a scenario is set to be 25 turns. The Variable length is set to be triggered on Turn 20 and dr <= 2. This means that on turn 20 and each turn after, at the end of each turn a six sided die is rolled. If the die roll result <= 2 then the scenario will end. If this condition is not satisfied then the scenario will go to next turn. The scenario will end no matter what on turn 25.

These are the settings - taken from the Editor - for three scenario of the ongoing GTotH campaign and for a scenario I am currently developing:

1st mission for 1st coy: max. length is set to 16 turns. Game ends on a dr <= 2 (33%) starting from turn 10. Probability to last up to turn 16 = 8.7%

1st mission for 3rd coy: max. length is set to 16 turns. Game ends on a dr <= 2 (33%) starting from turn 10. Probability to last up to turn 16 = 8.7%

2nd mission for 3rd coy: max. length is set to 15 turns. Game ends on a dr <= 3 (50%) starting from turn 9. Probability to last up to turn 15 = 1.6%

Casa Berardi: max. length is set to 16 turns. Game ends on a dr <= 1 (16%) starting from turn 11. Probability to last up to turn 15 = 40.2%

When I played these scenarios, they invariably lasted up to their maximum length. I played "Casa Berardi" more than 20 times to test various OOB, deployment and terrain options but never changing the variable end settings. On a 20-game series, the probability of having not a single one of them ending before turn 16 (100 die rolls without rolling a "1") should be negligible (1.21 * 10-8 %), however all of my games always end on turn 16.

The attached image shows the settings for the four scenarios mentioned above: could you please point out which mistakes we made, if any?

Is there maybe another setting that we need to use on conjunction with it? I created this test scenario of 6 turn with a Scenario End variable of <=5 starting on Turn 2. I ran through it 6 times and each time it went the full distance to the maximum of 6 turns. That's like what, rolling a 6 about 30 (or 24) times in a row on the end game roll?

I'm still seeing this behavior. Would a save game file help? I'm guessing the "roll result" can be checked from in there to make sure its rolling under the variable each turn. Would we need to post a save file from each turn the end game can be triggered or just the final end game?
