Hello --
I have Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit running on my computer. I have installed the game, and also installed the two patch updates. The game is configured to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
Prior to installing the two updates, I was able to launch the game without issue. Now whenever I select a scenario, the game immediately stops working, and displays a message indicating that.
I can remove the patches to see if that solves the problem, but before I do that I wanted to know if anyone had encounter this issue, and knew of another means to correct it?
Thanks.

did you run the patches as admin. eg run as admin with a right click, added to the firewall and your AV program to make sure it's added to the safe list?
install the game to the default installation?

Check in the sandbox screen: how many maps do you see listed?

Hello --
I uninstalled, and then reinstalled the game with patches using the 'Run As Administrator' option. The results were the same. I have Trend Micro Internet Security on my system, and I added the game to exception list, with no improvement to the situation.
The game has been installed in the C:\Matrix Games\Scourge of War Waterloo folder.
I checked the Sandbox screen, and there are no maps listed.

have you double checked the logs in Trend Micro Internet Security to see if it has stopped something from installing?
How to get a DxDiag report file:
1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8 )
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments (zip) rather than pasted into the body of the post.
add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.
That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.
run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.
please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.
please make sure you are running the latest game version and have up to date drivers installed on your pc,
If you have the original version. So you'll need to update it from the Internet.
Please note that you'll only need the last update, as the updates are comprehensive. (not needed with steam)

The game runs fine as long as I do not install the patches. That being the case, what is the argument(s) for having the patches installed?

If you see no maps listed in the sandbox screen is like your game become unregistred after the patch installation or the maps package deleted. Are you using the Matrix autoupdate system or manual installation?

Hello --
I have done updates through the Matrix splash screen, as well as downloaded and launched the executable files. The results are the same.
At this point, I am not going to bother with patches, because they are not doing anything but preventing the game from running on my system.
