The recommended resolution for a Surface Pro 3 is 2160 x 1440.

Any chance this could be supported in the future?

Here is what you can do, modify the configuration.ini file in the Windows Notepad and change the following:

Windowed=Yes
Sizex=2560
Sizey=1440

Save the file, and run the game. The game will run in windowed mode at 1920 x 1080 assuming your LCD can support it. If not please select resolution that the game supports:

1024 x 768, 1280 x 800, 1360 x 768, 1366 x 768, 1536 x 864, 1280 x 960, 1440 x 900, 1280 x 1024, 1680 x 1050, 1600 x 900, 1600 x 1200, 1920 x 1080, 1920 x 1200, 2560 x 1440.

so already supported and working, unless the device is a pixel out either way, then it won't as none default screen sizes can be a pain
