How do you set the resolution on this? My game keeps running "oversized" so the game is too big and the right part is cut off.

what settings are you trying to use, as most may not go much higher than shown?

are all pre requisites also installed?
anything that comes with the game also needs installing, even if you have a later version or the same version already installed on the pc, as it will only overwrite, and without, it won't run.
install as admin, run as admin.

if it doesn't run then, you have something on your pc that is stopping it, easiest way if finding out, is check your logs, eg firewall, and antivirus, then game even, as some but not all will say why it hasn't run or failed for a given reason.
Please attach a DxDiag report fie.
How to get a DxDiag report file:
1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8/10 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8/10)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message
7, if your new and can't / don't have permission etc, then copy paste into a reply
add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.
That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.
run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.
please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.
please make sure you are running the latest game version and have up to date drivers installed on your pc,
If you have the original version. So you'll need to update it from the Internet.
Please note that you'll only need the last update, as the updates are comprehensive. (not needed with steam)

Also not starting here.
(Retail 1.00, updated to 1.10. then 1.11, then 1.12b with the patches here, all run as administrator. There's no obvious way to attach dxdiag output.)
Oh, for anyone else, the first time I tried installing this plus the 1.12b patch, if I tried to run Korsun.exe directly (as administrator) I got the error:
"The code execution cannot continue because vorbisfile.dll was
not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem."
As none of the audio files are .ogg - they're all .wav apart from one .mp3.. I wondered why does it want it in the first place? Video?
Turns out that the 1.10 and 1.11 patches - which are here, but not mentioned on the program's page - are necessary installs before 1.12b has a chance of working. The 1.10 patch installs the necessary vorbisfile.dll because it DOES install some .ogg files.

I've tried installing (again 1.00 retail, 1.10 patch, 1.11 patch, 1.12b patch, all as an Administrator) on a Windows 2000 SP4 machine and this time the error is that, from 1.10, the game requires the MS VC++ 6.00 redistributable DLL (msvcp60.dll) but does not install a copy itself.
I suspect that someone assumed it would already be present (although it also wants to install a new copy of Ariel.ttf over the existing one!?) but that's not the case with a fresh copy of Windows 2000 SP4.
It's been possible to find a copy of msvcp60.dll and the machine isn't networked just in case there's anything dodgy with the one I found.
It appears to run fine with that setup, so I may give up trying to run it under Windows 10.
