Multi- hex firegroups?

Post by fuselex »

Have seen a few comments regarding this . My 2 cents worth at the moment is that it helps to stack units to take out some of the well defended areas .
Stone buildings , entrenched areas etc , and the one lucky shot from the computer can wipe out all of your plans .
I really don`t have a problem with this because it also works the other way .
What I imagine is by bringing in multi-hex firegroups it will swing the balance towards the player to the point the AI is no longer a challenge.
To expect the AI to co-ordinate a plan where at the end of the move it will have 3 hexes of 3 units next to each other to form a firegroup would be a mighty feat :)
The player has the advantage of seeing if he runs past that hmg guarding the road and I`m lucky enough I can get my firegroup on that annoying Russian building.
The AI won`t plan , see . or do that .
So at this point I figure the single hex firegroups are by far the better option
