AI Reinforcement problems

I have played a couple of games the last couple of days where the AI received reinforcements and the reinforcements
just sat there for a turn or two. Earlier it happened in a scenario where both sides had Advance AI Attitude. Both
sides had reinforcements. The American side came on as soon as they entered the game. The German side did not. They
sat for a turn or two and then finally moved.

Today the Russians had Hold AI Attitude. Their reinforcements came on in turn three and never moved until turn five.

In both games the reinforcements came in with their LOS blocked from the main battle and all the Objective Hexes. I
don't know if that anything to do with it but it is all I can think of.

Would love to see this fixed as it kind of ruined both games.

Thanks
Jack

Which scenarios were you playing?

They were both scenarios I made based on ASLSK #1 - Retaking Vierville and War of the Rats. Both had reinforcements
and in both the reinforcements sat for multiple turns. I could send the scenarios if it would help.

First jcrohio you should wait for Update 1 that will be released in the middle of next week. Peter has tweaked the AI and it is more aggressive and much more likely to Advance. This will be especially noticeable if the AI is in Advance Attitude. If your AI is in Hold Attitude you should set the AI Special Command setting in the UNIT Attributes window, the units does not need to be in AI Control Only mode. This can be done in two ways.
1. Attack: The units with this setting will be in Attack Attitude and will advance.

2. Defend a Hex: You set coordinates for a hex to be defended by the unit and it will move towards that hex, occupy it and defend it.

You should also take into consideration that there is a randomization if the units will move or not. This should be very low for units in Advance Attitude.

Thanks Paulus

Good to know about the Hold and Advance commands. That should fix the second scenario War of the Rats.

The trouble I ran into in the first scenario Retaking Vierville was that both sides had their AI Attitude set to
Advance. The note on the edit unit dialog box states that the AI commands are only effective when the overall AI
is given a Hold Attitude. So I assume this means setting them to Attack will do no good.

Hopefully the patch will also help.
