Hello!
I purchased game over Steam. When I start it it shows me error:
"Error playing music file D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm\Assets\Audio\Main Theme.wav. Music is now disaled." OK
>> after pressing OK the game goes on. I can choose any scenario or campaign, but whatever I choose another error appears straight after the mission loads (it has "Fprs" in title):
"IDirectSoundBuffer not made." OK
This error message pops up in rate of about 3 times per second, basically rendering it unplayable.

Sound Tab 2: The file xspltspk.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

check for a update for sound driver as it looks and says this isn't signed so may not also be fully win 10 compatible either...

pop into the bios and disable the 16gb for the card also, 8gb will be more than enough for any game unless you run higher than 4k res on the latest type of games, then tbh i still wouldn't use shared system ram to improve it, as it would in fact slow it down, system has DDR3 or 4 maybe? with card using faster, so it won't mix and match different memory speeds, it just alter all to the slowest.

is this a fresh install of windows 10 or an upgrade?

MSI Update Agent error's in logs / report as well, so maybe using an older version, update this and run it and see it it will update your drivers for you.

now my standard reply, to read and double check

add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.

That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.

run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.

please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

game needs C++ redistributable packages and also DirectX version from same package to run and work, without them it will crash or cause errors.

can you screen shot this page for me as well, thanks?

google the error and you get pages of same errors in different games as well





looking for a Realtek driver error marker to be honest, as it's a well known one and is fully supported so no idea apart from guessing why your's isn't either.

options, unplug all external devices like head phones etc and controllers apart from keyboard and mouse, and re try, another option is run in safemode as this will disable all but the very bare needed stuff and re try, then at least if it runs or doesn't you know if it's hardware or software.

plus double check to make sure these are installed as well C++ redistributable packages and also DirectX version from the game install folder on steam

Jakub1936, Zakblood is on point with the issue. Your sound setup in win10 is not finding a WAV file capable player or one that handles the format of the sound files we have. Hopefully his information will lead to a solution and get you up and running. Keep us posted on the outcome.

Hi - was a fix ever found for this? I have the same issue - my PC is the same as Jakub1936's

A Windows 10 clean install is generally missing a number of older libraries and codices that older media players run on. Does your windows Media Player work? Also might not hurt to load directX 9. We will investigate more on this end. Also the game has a known incompatibility with Nahimic (MSI?). If you have not loaded the libraries from the Redist folder, you should do that as well as Admin.

I just opened Windows Media Player (for the first time on this laptop) and it works. Set it up not to be the default player.

Couldn't load Direct 9x - got the error message "You must be running Windows 98, Windows Milennium Edition, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 family to install DirectX 9.0"

I then opened up Nahimic (for the first time too!) and checked the settings - nothing I could change there that I felt would help.

Not sure what you mean by the Redist folder - searched on the PC and couldn't find it. Would it be in the original MSI or Nahimic documentation?

Anyway and I decided to fire up the game again anyway - and it worked perfectly! So I guess running the Windows Media player had an effect.

I'll play a bit and report back if there are any further problems. You mentioned an incompatibility with Nahimic but so far seems ok.
