CODE NAME: RED ISLAND 2016

Finland vs. Russia
Date/Time: 25th May 2016
Location: Åland Islands
Playable Sides: Finland

Russia is trying to annex demilitarised Åland Islands. Putin says it is very important strategic location to Russia keep NATO away from Baltic Sea. Same time Putin is trying to create open conflict with Finland and Sweden to prevent their possible future NATO membership. Finland and Russia sees each other as hostile, EU, NATO and Sweden does not want to take part in this conflict.

Russian code name for this operation is Red Island.

Hey we swedes are there in spirit, in the form of the RBS 15 Jokes aside, good and fun mission. A few things i noticed:

[*]Give the Russians side doctrine -> Radar active so they actually utilise their SAM defenses against incoming threats.
[*]Any reason why alot of the F/A-18's carry litening pods?
[*]You might want to group up the SAG's.
[*]Maybe the Leningrad area (old habits die hard) could do with some additional and better SAM, such as S-300 or S-400?

Note below in the russian expenditures that they fired no SAM from their ships.

Hhmm, i got tons of SAM from their ships!

Pretty easy, fun to play, I liked it!

Couple of points:

After winning, looked at the editor, seems like you have some Russian aircraft at airbases that don't have a mission
Those land-based ASM are pretty strong, took out the entire eastern SAG with just 2 launchers. Maybe delete a launcher or 2 to increase difficulty
I didn't use some of my fighters, maybe cut down on number of aircraft available to players to increase difficulty
Make airbases that are not going to be attacked Single-Unit airbases to increase performance
The learjet was pretty useless tbh
Maybe decrease the amount of ships Finland has, unless you add AWACS for the Russians they can't detect the Finnish ships, so I just salvoed all of my ASMs and hid my ships after firing
Russian CAP was easy to deal with, not sure what you could do about that
Didn't lose points for losing radars

Again, fun scenario, short and sweet (but intense!)

I think it might be unrelated to your mission, at any rate it will make it substantially easier for the russians to identify planes approaching them and hence will be more effective in defense.
The mission is indeed a bit too easy right now.

Edit: Oh and yeah, i had a major victory despite having the russians successfully land. I am guessing that isnt intended? You can always make it so a successfull landing you lose alot of points

Yes, a very interesting scenario, but a bit to easy as it is.
I would have the Russian CAP already on station when the game starts. If you are now quick enough, you can sink most of the Russian vessels before their CAP even arrives on station.
Overall, a very nice scenario. Well done.

Actually ASuW weapons seems to be enough.

All in all nice confined-quarters scenario even without extra AMRAAMs.
