Northern Fury - Next Steps

For those playing and testing the Northern Fury series, I certainly appreciate the help and advice. After a bit of a slow down, I'm now at a crossroads. 10.5 finishes up the preparations for the 2 MEF assault on Iceland, and Vagar Vengeance is almost an independent scenario. The 'Longest Battle' was a bit of an unexpected but fun sideshow but is currently a bit of an orphan. So what next?

1. Continue the series chronologically, the next one is very quick (inserting SOF), followed by the Battlewagons making their debut and then, the actual amphibious operation which will be big, complex and probably slow to produce. And there are options here as well, a) Play the whole MEF in a series of massive scenarios or split it into two parallel streams, b) Follow 6 RCT, which you start playing with in 10.5 and has the more interesting tasks, or c) Follow 8 RCT on ground you will not have paid much attention to yet, which is interesting in itself.

2. Refine 'The Longest Battle' its in pretty rough shape at the moment and needs some work to make it better. Not sure if anyone is making any headway on it or not?

3. Build 'Caribbean Fury' which is a 3 scenario prequel to 'The Longest Battle' with the JF Kennedy pounding Cuba, some fairly disparate resources gathering and fending off some somewhat surprising events, and some fairly serious submarine action.

I am honestly keen and very interested in doing any of these (and all will get done eventually) but thought I'd put it out for comment so I could get a feel for what you guys want?

My opinion would be to finish up the 10. series, move onto finishing 12.6, then if you want a breather from Northern Fury, you could start work on the Caribbean theater, or continue on with Northern Fury. No matter what way you go, however, I'm sure it will be great!

Hmmm... They all sound so good.

Strange as it may sound, after beating my head against the Iceland defences again and again, it might be really interesting to go fight somewhere warm. A nice visit to Cuba, perhaps, Comrade Gunner?

EDIT: Wrong coast, but here's a little tropical submarine music to help inspire: Surfin USSR

I would vote for continuing the 10 series. Thanks again for creating these great scenarios.

I really enjoyed the shift in theatre with Longest Battle; however I can't really play it because I keep getting out of memory crashes.

While I want to play more Carribean (and, ultimately, Pacific) Fury, I would recommend 'finishing' or getting to a point you feel comfortable closing off Northern Fury. Only because I know with my own scenarios, once I start something new it's hard to go back to previous projects.

First of all, thanks a LOT for all the NF scenarios allready available!

Caribbean Fury sounds very interesting. I think I'd enjoy that mini series.

Then again, following chronologically allso sounds very good.

OK

I'm officially distracted![:-]

Here is the background document for Caribbean Fury

First scenario is largely built, missions, events and script yet to go but the bones are there.

Next 2 scenarios largely thought through but based on the first one it could spin of two more

I will not lose sight of Northern Fury...I will not.... I will not...

Given how good the existing scenarios are, any of the options sound good. If I had to choose I would vote for Caribbean Fury simply as a change of pace.

Caribbean Fury 1: Hot Tamales, is 98% done. Just need to stop tinkering with it...
