Hi everybody,

I was doing some file clean up on my computer backing stuff up on Dvds. I decided to check some of my older matrix backup copies. and the drive doesn't read the old disks. For example the disk I copied Don to the Danube says it's empty, Unity of Command and Red Turn says o bytes

Any ideas how I can recover these Games. It my have something to do with the older back up disks being CD-R. But still the dvd drive should read it.

Thanks for any help.

Just contact http://www.matrixgames.com/support/ with your order details (order reference number or/and email address used when placed the order) and they will provide you with new download links.

while this won't help with cd / dvd back ups, you at least will have the media for re installs in the future [;)]

Thanks Zak I'm afraid I may have to do that... the question would be where to back up stuff. I purposely used disks figuring if I a large SSD drive or other medium fails I loose everything. I never expected disks recorded years ago by an older computer would become unreadable. Progress I guess.

Thanks again.

it may just be how the disk was burned or media or a given program is missing, as some older formats or types aren't as well supported either in later versions, sometimes a older drive works wonders where a brand new drive fails to read, slow burners and slower reader are imo sometimes better with older disk

Good point zakblood... the drive speeds are much different plus the option to record to a disk multiple times.

When I made these back-ups the disks were locked after removal from the drive.

Anyway I E-mailed support and had new downloads the next morning... Awesome support!
