PBEM?

Are there any plans for TOTH to implement some form of PBEM? I have seen some good AI's out there but I have never seen one to give the game provided by a human opponent. So will we see PBEM in the future?

Because of the nature of the interactive MPh/DFF, I don't see this happening. I know a lot of people (myself included) have played and still do pbem ASL via VASL but it's clunky at best with a lot of "move that guy back because I would of shot at him there" type of stuff going on.

So basically Toth is kind of a computer version of solitaire SL. Which is nice in itself assuming a good AI.

Myself, I think I would accept handing over to the computer my defensive reactive actions during the opposing turn to allow for a version giving Pbem play.

You can play Pbem by sending your save file to your opponent. There will be a lot of files but you could agree on some house rules

Would there be a "replay" of what your opponent did during their portion of the turn or would it only show the ending status of the units? If it does offer a "replay", can you interrupt that replay to take a DFF/SFF/FPF shot? If you do that, what happens to the moves that were made after the move that you just interrupted (i.e., can you interject your actions into the save file?)? I'll have to launch the game again perhaps to see how this could possibly work - at least with VASL, you can interrupt your opponents move by starting your own log file but you lose everything that they guy moved after your interruption because of the influence your shot may have on the other units.

No replay I'm afraid. Just ending status.

No PBEM because of the enemy's response?
And if we replaced the hostile response in PBEM, by a hostile response potential, calculated automatically by the AI, depending, for example:
- The distance of the objective
- Means anti-personnel and anti-tank enemies
-The player is it attacking or defending
-the lap number

Automatic attrition percentage applied only to units moving.
