1. Does FRAPS work with this game bundle?

2. The retail box available at matrix, what does it contain?

What is FRAPS?

It's a program which captures video and/or screenshots of games.
http://www.fraps.com/

The captured video can be used for a variety of things, but I usually record video games to upload them to my youtube channel where I tend to do "let's Play" series of games.
In my case these are usually campaigns (or depending on the game whatever is close to it), where I play the game and talk about it, my strategies, tactics, etc.

I am sorry if you already know all these but I thought to save you time in case you don't know.
Here are the ones I have done so far https://www.youtube.com/user/Trusteft/playlists
Or in case you want something more specific
My Panzer General II campaign (almost finished) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... bJu5LB_c_7
My latest Star Trek Birth of the Federation campaign (out of several) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... buFKQ0BZiP
My Horizon campaign with Humans https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... DHC65ngY2U

I think that's enough lol.

The retail game includes East Front II, West Front and Rising Sun. It includes all of their expansion packs plus the numerous upgrades that have been added since it's original release. Hundreds and hundres of scenarios, really!

Plus all the editors so you can design your own goodies.

I use Camastasia for creating videos (mostly related to Campaign Series Middle East), so I presume FRAPS can be used as well? I am unsure 100% though.

I am sorry, I wasn't clear enough.
I meant what physical things are inside the retail boxed version. I ordered it from Matrix and was wondering what comes in it.

I don't have camtasia, I know it can work with some games that FRAPS can't though.
I will try FRAPS later.

I did try the game on its own and I am so disappointed with myself for not buying the game(s) when they were originally released in the 90s. I remember seeing the boxes in stores and even though I was (always) a huge strategy/wargame fan, for some reason I never got them.
I played a few turns of a scenario and it looks and feels really good. I was expecting zero animation but I was happily surprised.
One thing I don't like is the lack of options in the game, as far as I know. I couldn't find a way to exit the scenario other than Alt+F4 and no way to change the audio levels.
That could be a problem for youtube videos.

Did you update your install to 2.02?

The reason I ask is because the 2.02 version is windowed and the main menu is turned on by default, allowing you to see the full suite of options for the game, including turning off the music.

If it isn't on, pressing M will active it!

By 2.02, the Menu should always be there. It should never be toggled off. (By 2.02, M is the new Display Moved Units hot key.)
