I am looking for information about the French Pacific Fleet, more specifically the French Indian Ocean Squadron, around 1992-1993. I have looked everywhere I can think of, but I can't find any information. If anyone has any sources on this topic please post them here. Thanks!

I had those handy because I was doing some work on an Iran-Iraq war scenario. I don't just randomly collect fleet information.

ALso, if you look at a couple of books on the Iran-Iraq and First Gulf war, they detail some of the French fleet make ups around the time.

I was always under the impression that the Brits kept a sizable squadron out in the IO as well but your first reference 'Superpower Rivalry in the Indian Ocean: Indian and American Perspectives' seems to indicate no; with the statement 'The only other power... is China' that is besides the Soviets, Americans and French.

Have you found anything on the Brits?

I'll have to look. They didn't jump out at me. But I am pretty sure they keep a small squadron in the IO. I'll look back, but nothing came up in either war I was researching.

Back to working on the scenario now... I noticed that in one of the documents it lists the French Pacific Fleet as having 4 corvettes, but what class of ship would these be? I can't find anything matching in the DB and google is not helping

The F 781 D'Estienne D'Orves is a French Corvette active around that time. It is in the DB3K.
