How are mines handled

This may have been asked before, but how are mines going to be handled in WITP? Currently, mines are the thing I like the least in UV. In fact I pretty much can't stand them. No they haven't been a show stopper in any game, I learned early to protect my MSWs. It's just I get tired of seeing the entire Solomons as one big mine field.

Hey you broke the NDA!

No, that would only be if I told them how the Japanese player can develope an atomic bomb.

Ooops! ****, said too much again.

I'll remember to wear extra thick gloves next time I handle one. I was just wondering if anyone knew and was able to post if there were set numbers or only certain bases, or they worked like supply and had to be transported around, etc, but I'm guessing no one can answer this due to NDAs. No big deal, I'm getting the game now matter what.

Reloads

Hi, Current plans are for submarines to reload, they need to be at a size 9/10 port. Or a sub tender needs to be located at port (smaller then size 9/10)
For surface ships to reload torpedos they need to be at a size 9/10 port or a destroyer tender needs to be located at port

Thanks for the reply Mogami. I definately like those ideas.

I think that's a little extreme on the port size, but hey, as long as DD tenders are being included I guess its okay. The more ships the merrier, I say!

Yuck! If I have to sail my subs all the way back to a size 9 or 10 port, which I doubt the Japanese will have many of, they will suffer so much system damage that they will be useless very quickly.

I hope “Destroyer” tenders can also re-load torpedoes on heavy cruisers as well. Personally, I don’t think torpedoes should be treated any differently than any other type of ordinance. What’s next, keeping track of how many rounds of 25mm ammo we have on board? I certainly home we won’t have to keep track of how many torpedoes we have on a carrier. Please tell me carriers won’t need “destroyer” tenders to reload their aircraft’s torpedoes.

From Snigbert's test a couple threads down, it appears that the incidental SYS factor has been toned down alot so based on that i dont think you have too worry about that too much.

Forcing subs to move to certain sized ports and/or a port with a sub tender is a very historical move. The loss of Manila (and its stock of torps) was a signifigant blow to the silent service and forced it to relocate and re-establish a sub base in Australia complete with a new sub-tender and operational HQ

Otherwise, we get what i experienced in one PBEM....having an invasion fleet face subs with unlimited ammo because they replenish after each turn (because the base is a friendly one to the sub TF)

I'm still awaiting test results though in regards to non-cruise type missions (bombardment----fast transport)

:)

Hi, Destroyer tender also reload other ships except PT boats. PT's have their own type support ships

Ships that reload weapons:
PT boat tender
destroyer tender
mine tender
sub tender
In a replenshment TF ammo ships can reload ammo but not torpedos.

everything can restock in a size 9 port
smaller ports need the tenders.

There are also repair ships, all tenders help repair their type ship faster. Repair ships repair all ships faster

Carrier ammo for aircraft loadouts remains the same.
