Hello Everyone and welcome again to the Strategic Command Beta Test

We use an FTP site to hold and share the files that we need for testing Strategic Command.

The Beta FTP login is as follows:

Server: ftp://beta.matrixgames.com
Port: 21
Login: StrategicCommand3BetaUser
Password: BFx36aEeeX

We strongly recommend using a FTP client to login and download. The best free FTP client is FileZilla, which can be found here:

http://filezilla-project.org

Once you have accessed the FTP site you need to download:

The Full Installer - The latest version is StrategicCommand-SetupBeta-v1.00.06.exe and is similar to installing a brand new Matrix Game.
Download that and run it to get the game installed. (You should have your serial number from the e-mail you received accepting you to the beta test)

I downloaded FileZilla and it won't connect. So I just clicked the link put the name and password in and Chrome took me to the directory and I'm downloading it now. Strange about FileZilla but happy Chrome came thru for me.

I'm using Filezilla got these messages in the top bar:

Svar: 421 Connection is closed, because of no file transfer over 180s .

Still downloading though, so I'm happy for the time being

Downloading with filezilla and having no problems so far

Tried FileZilla & Chrome, both could not load the connection.

And now installing, after Norton warning me about how new the file was, and the potential danger bla bla bla...

btw I just used chrome to dl - worked easy enough

Firefox downloads it just fine so far.

I don't know why you guys are having so much trouble with filezilla, you just have to fill the boxes and press on quick connection.

You have to enter the user name as well

Alternatively you can click on "File"-->"Site Manager" and a screen as the one shown in the image will appear. Then you fill in the gaps: Host,...
And connect to the site

oh dummy me i downloaded the filezilla server version and could not connect as others than i downloaded filezilla client version and that version had the boxes on the top load info hit quick connect and it worked to get to the download

I too downloaded the server file. Just installed the client version. Downloading the Strategic Command now.

Me too, that explains why it looked so different than it used too!! DUH - correcting mistake now!

Do we need to uninstall the old beta before installing this? Or can we just over-write the previous version of the game?

It's better to uninstall first.
And to be sure also delete the old install and ini / save folder after that if anything remains.
That way you are sure nothing "old" remains and influences your tests.

Are you sure about uninstalling first? I was under the impression it just a partial update and that you needed the main install.

@ RickEAllen, I asked the same question under the 1.07 beta thread. Benedict recommended to uninstall 1.06 and do a fresh install of 1.07. It is a stand alone build and 1.06 is not required for it to run.
