Following on from correcting the auto play menu, whenever i try to skip past the cinematic when the game first loads, the game crashes and i get a message saying that 'spartan.exe has stopped working' The same thing happens even if i let the cinematic play through fully

what player do you have setup as default in windows 10?




is it a fresh install of windows or an upgrade, as if you have none standard players, or altered codec it can break codec so will or could give you error's, i use a different one, but one that doesn't break codec players, if it's an upgrade, you may have other issues with broken codec's as it's a well known problem with upgrading, it takes over any problem, that a clean install just doesn't have, so options and answers will be different as well.

VLC and mega codec packs aren't great at keeping standard windows codec working, as they can alter them and when needed by older and new games for that matter, when played they break, or hang.

i have tried using 5k player and that hasnt solved the problem, what should i do?

5k player is just one i use and not the default player from windows 10, and maybe wasn't a good choice or option to display, if it is a broken codec issue, then if you have followed my guides to ehe letter in the link below, then these guides do work, but only for new fresh installs of windows, errors from upgrades from a previous versions of windows are another matter altogether i'm sorry to say, as i can't fix and repair unknown or broken codec's either

so first uninstall the game, and make sure the folder is empty then using the guide reinstall as follows, installing all pre requites as shown and running as admin on the installs, it's a picture format so others from different languages can easily follow with pictures with no or little words needed, good luck

for me i would hope so, worked fine for me btw

I haven't upgraded to Windows 10 yet, for fear of things not working.
Spartan wouldn't run on Windows 7 for me - until I found a missing DLL file.

works fine for me on windows 10, latest version, just needed a set of files also, then it worked fine
