The pilot in the first one called the P-51's 50 cals "cannon". Or was that a bad translation?
Oh, thanks for those links Alpha77

He also assumed 50cal as cannons when he describes Oscar's upgraded version
And the "critique" is interesting because from what I have read, it was Japanese army pilot's obsession with maneuverability at all costs what pushed designers to build something like Oscar, while a faster, better armed "Tojo" was available, but got relegated as we all PDU-OFF players know

Not necessarily a Brit. Other corners of the old Empire still spell properly. Not sure about Canada.

Canada does everything the way we Yanks do, they just add "eh?" to the end of everything*. They even drive on the correct side of the road.
*I am of course not referring to the Quebecois. Even the French do not know what language they speak.

Oh, yes, I forgot. You're led by a rather short female (who doesn't know how to spell stuff 'properly').

At least I don't spell my name "Jeff" and I've had to spend decades living amongst troglodytes who don't know how to pronounce "George" or is it "Goff" or is it "Goof" or "Gee-off" or ...

Goorblessah! Looking forward to a revitalised (see the spelling there?) Anglosphere after the Brexit vote.

Armour. Colour. Grey. Accoutrements (you realize there are H. Sapiens on this planet who say "Accouterments"?). Metre. Theatre. Aeon. You know, being Latin, it is pronounced with a long I (ae that is) and not eeeyon. It's been eeeyons since I heard that pronounced correctly. Labour. Let's not have an unnecessary clamour about this post. When the Americans heard "wound my heart with a monotonous languor" they thought it referred to a monkey. [:D]

I've been looking at a list of British vis a vis American spellings. I can report to you that the American version of "minibuses", (minibusses) refers to kisses that do not involve any use of the tongue.

Don't forget 'storey'.
Wasn't hard to tell from the cover that Multi-Storey Buildings in Steel was a book about British architecture.

Well guess 50cal HMG can be called cannon... might also be translation issue.
You can not assume taht say 60 % were obsessed with manouverability that ALL of them were, right ?
Or have you spoken to every IJA pilot in WW2 ? [:D]
Also it sounds like plane had more problems, therefore I suggest upping the SR from 1 to 2 for the early Oscar modells.[:'(]

Of course not all pilots will necessarily agree, but there was enough "critical mass" to guaranteed designs that prioritized maneuverability and range vs. other considerations.
Maybe a consequence of fighting too long against Polikarpovs, which were also high on maneuverability

Who is this "we" you are referring to? Is English the official language on Gorn? If so why didn't Kirk understand what your predecessor was saying?
