I am currently running 108.08 - is that the most current up to date official patch.

Reason I'm asking is that some operations don't work - moving factories for instance.

Also I have numbers and names all smashed together in nearly every screen. - Pick a leader - production screen etc...etc...

The latter issue sound like a screen resolution issue. Try going into the setup and messing with the video settings.

I don't know how to do that.

You have >100% DPI settings, try to set WitE to 100% (or the entire Windows).
