Never played/seen any Strategic Command game but, this seems interesting
It has a Panzer Corps unit feel and a Commander: The Great War economic and map feel
With an editor too, think I'll get this when this comes out

Feel free to try the older SC-Games too, they are really good:

Global Conflict with Gold add-on & Great War with Breakthrough add-on.

I can second the WWI and Breakthrough nomination.

These games are much deeper than Panzer Corps.

Always thought SC1 was a great game. Still is.

Looking to see how it has matured into SC3.

I'll be honest, I tend to prefer to think of all the stuff in the middle as like movie sequels no one wants to recall. Just my opinion.

I have to say, this is much more than PC or CTGW. I really think that SC3 will be the definite grand strategy game for WW2. Great, great stuff.

Will it have counters vs the tiny soldiers as an option?

All of the SC and SC2 games are really good games. I have all of them. The editor is easy to use for any level of experience. The only issue I have ever encountered with these games is that if I edit unit characteristics (mp, attack, defend, etc.) the game AI would slow down and the turns would take longer. Even with that, I give all of these games an A, with SC2 Pacific an A+.

Looking forward to SC3!

I have purchased every add-on, module, etc. from SC1 to Assault on Communism (AoC). Grand strategy is not my favorite, except for World in Flames (nothing can compare) and maybe the upgraded Commander at War. A hex representing an Army labeled with a "10" strength, for example, is too simplistic, while an Army's worth of chits from WitE is too much. [;)]

Mike's AAR is very good. But the map and counters look pulled from Time of Wrath. Caveat is they are moddable, and will be modded well by the fan base.

There is also a hint of a better AI. That would be welcomed, although AI hasn't been a big problem for me in the series. However, if it is exceptional, as Ian had hinted, that could create some excitement.

Without question, anyone who has never played SC2 on up, really should consider this game. Being it's on Matrix and may go to Steam one day, you might attract a more sizable audience than before, plus all the diehards. That would be my hope.

Hi Colberki,

If you haven't had the chance to read our first blog post it does cover a few of the new features and enhancements that the new game will offer... we should have a few more blogs in the next little while that will cover more details.
