The campaign update should have France working now as I had intended and any feedback there would be appreciated. Essentially France should play much more dynamically but without opening the door directly to Paris as it did in v1.00.02.

Well, I'm working with a modified OOB, but I don't think that disqualifies this result, maybe it does, but anyway I am on the latest 1.07.03, Intermediate and +1 to the computer. Last turn I took Benelux and at that point the French Army was lined up on the French/Belgian border. At the beginning of the computer turn, he moved the French 1e Armee to Paris, and the 8e and 9e Armee's down to Lyons, by Operate. That left a fighter unit and the DCR to defend, while 2 of the 3 BEF units left town.
Also note that as MrSlobadan pointed out with the Italians, the French Armys are not white at this zoom out. If you would like, I can send you both corrected files, to save your time.

Will it mess up the game too much for me to put the new exe in there and continue my Axis game? Otherwise it will take a while to get back to the same point I was at and I suspect things would be somewhat similar anyway as I play rather predictably right now.

Thanks for offering the files, I've already adjusted them on my end for the next major build, but otherwise much appreciated.
For the issue you've noted, the problem is that the current campaign and OOB is fine tuned to many AI scripts so it is likely that things are acting up a bit and unexpectedly if you alter the OOB too much. Something to keep in mind as in this instance it would likely explain the odd behaviour.

Feel free to drop in the hotfix EXE at any time as it is compatible with games in progress and just fixes bugs... either way I would recommend it for the latest and greatest GAME EXE etc.

see attached, 1.07.03
French division in Oct '39 seems a bit rash invading Germany without support. I did not counter it's first move, but was able to bring in forces from Poland to crush it a couple of turns later.
Can't really fault the AI for being aggressive, when I left an opening, but it should have moved other units into the breach if it was going to be aggressive.

Same thing happened to me. But I simply surrounded it and ignored it. You're right though, I am surprised the AI didn't support it better.

While not historical as a human player I would probably do the same thing. France is going to fall, so why not throw Germany off their game plan if they allow it.

Just conquered France, beginner level, 1.07.03. Did not notice any difference in aggressiveness. France formed a good defensive position around Paris, after the Germans broke through the first line, using armies instead of corps immediately in Paris and nearby.

Hubert - have you gotten a handle on what's causing the game to crash so much for me? Do you need more info? Based on the text popup I'd have to say its a rendering error as it usually starts the same way with "game failed to draw from cache" or something like that. Yesterday I went a ton of turns with no crashes. Then it started crashing again. I wanted to reinforce that I never had a single crash until two hotfixes ago. If you need more data on this please let me konw so I can collect it. But if you know what's going on I will just close and get back to the game
