ETA on 3D unit sprites?

Just curious. I know we're supposed to be using the other options, but I love using the 3d sprites as they are so beautiful and add so much character to the game.

Mid to late August based on how things look on our end right now.

I don't suppose there's some quick a dirty method I could use to get something useful over the blank tiles? If I could identify where the blank spaces are that need to be filled in... if I could put a letter in for those it would help me out. Like an "I" for Infantry".
