I labeled 4 spots for these units and was wondering if someone could tell me exactly what each of the 3 spaces after the Strength means in these cases. Thanks for helping
1. 1-1-blank (Battleship)
2. 1-1-1 (Cruiser)
3. 2-1-1 (Tank Group)
4. 1-1-1 (Reconnaissance Car)

Those are your upgrade levels on the units.
So things like naval warfare, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine, motorized, heavy tanks, etc.

Yes I know that. But how/which ones? The first number, which does that apply to? Same for the next couple. Does the first number specifically apply to anti-air on the naval units? For tanks, what's the 3rd slot always reserved for? etc.

When you select say a CL while it is in port, right click on it, select upgrades, the list of upgrades is shown to you that you can either apply to the unit or it already has. These are shown in a descending order of:
1. Naval Warfare
2. Anti-Aircraft
3. Anti-Submarine
Now on the game map when you see the numbers as you have indicated in your screen shot above, you can tell which they are as the 1-3 numbers are in order from left to right on the counters/sprites. So number 1 is the first number on the left, number 2 is the second number (middle number), etc. Hope that helps clarify it.

Ahhhhh! I get it! Thank you thank you thank you! See I kept looking at the "unit properties" and thinking, how does this relate?
With 3d sprites is there a way to tell who has attacks left? I know the disks turn dark when there is definitely nothing you can do left.
