Poor sight

I must admit that my eyes are not the same of 10 or 20 years ago.
I'm 52 and hawkeye has left the building forever.
At the same time I must confess that I find difficult to understand for example if a unit is upgraded or not.
The numbers are really too small for my poor eyes and the green color is not enough to understand at first glance if a unit is up to date or not.
I'm almost obliged to play with Nato counters that are a little more visible than the 3d version.
The fonts are too small and in my opinion the orange/white color of the number on the left side of the screen (pp left/mobilization) is not the best choice.
I would suggest a further degree of zoom or greater numbers.
An highlight surrounding the units to be updated or reinforced would be a nice addition.
The game is wonderful (as always) and the events put the player really in the middle of WW2, but the view is not optimal.
Btw I'm playing on a 17 inches wide screen on a laptop.

Your opinion?

the green color is not enough to understand at first glance if a unit is up to date or not.

I think I can answer this. GREEN means it is not up to date. WHITE means it is.

I also have to admit that my sight is poor and I need new glasses, therefore I cannot complain about the graphics because it is my fault [until I get properly corrected vision].

imo the problem is with too much information on screen at once, so the txt has been made to be smaller than normal, as i also find it hard to test for long without eye strain because of the small txt you need to see and read

What resolution does the 17" screen have? I can imagine that if it's 1920x1080 or higher that it becomes unreadable.
Playing on 27" here at 2560x1440 and it's just about right. On 27" and 1920x1080 it's huge.

it has more to do with age as much as screen size and res used, have tried a few myself, and they range from 19" to 29" with various settings used, for me it doesn't scale too well same as most don't but that's just a few users opinions, 1920x1080 is my default settings for almost every game i test and play.

not tried it as yet on my gaming rig monitor either,

34" 2560x1080 as id guess the UltraWide 21:9 aspect ratio will make it even worse, not better.

was thinking of getting this later this year, as the price is great,

40" 3840x2160 VA 4K 60Hz Widescreen LED monitor, but with such little support atm in many games i've held off atm getting it, while it may play newer stuff, older stuff won't work at anywhere near what it can do so there's little point, but would like to try it and see if it helps or makes worse just in case

I'm doing the beta test on a Asus RoG g750jz-t4129h laptop.
Monitor is 17,3" with 1920 x 1080 res.
May you suggest me a way to change the resolution of this program only without altering every time the general resolution of my pc?

i have no idea on how you can change it unless there's a game settings command line that can be run, only the developer knows the answer to that one i'm afraid

hello Cunctator

Unfortunately there is not currently a way to change the resolution for SC without altering your general resolution.

However, we have been listening to you, Zakblood and others and we are looking at a way of increasing the text size
as an option. Its not straightforward but we are looking to try and find a solution before release (but no promises just yet)

Ben Wilkins

one more zoom level may do it, as it will then be closer and imo easy to see the smaller txt and writing etc, thanks and fingers crossed[&o][&o][&o]

+1 on the request to allow an option for larger, more readable fonts.

Also, while you're doing that, [;)] could you also please add the ability to change the colors of the various texts (on units, on menus, etc)? That would help my old eyes out a lot.

Lastly, if possible, could you also add a way to select custom colors for the map? Perhaps a set of palates? That again, would help my aging eyes. The units against the dark green map are tough.

Thanks!
